how do i hold all these legends

One of my friends who plays League of Legends had had a lot of problems with his name. He had told us a few times that he disliked his name and said he was tired of it. He had thought it was funny when he made it up, which was before he even really started playing, but he no longer thought it was funny and was getting annoyed at positive and negative comments he was receiving because of it.

So he emailed Riot Games Support. Here’s the main part of his email:

Basically, my summoner name is considered offensive by the vast majority of the players. I named myself HiggerNater, and while I am aware that this is a spoonerism for something else, I never really intended it to be offensive. Although a lot of people like to roll with the joke and agree how much they nate higgers, most just take it as some sort of neo-nazi declaration and assume I’m just the worst person.

So since people keep reporting me even though I try to keep the mood jolly whenever I play, I guess it’s really appropriate for my name to be changed. I really just want to stop getting unwarranted hate.

He didn’t tell them what name he wanted; he asked them to come up with a new name for him.

Today he got his new name.
